The use of ICTs is potentially beneficial to development as it encourages the sharing of information and the effective involvement by social groups at various levels, offering, in particular, the possibility of networking individuals and systems. ICT offer the potential to expand the scope of teaching and learning, breaking through traditional constraints of space and time as well as boundaries of current educational systems. Moves towards learning societies are based on the world web need to acquire new knowledge throughout life. Knowledge is very difficult to define because of its multifaceted nature. And the management of knowledge is also difficult in present informatics world. Knowledge Management has become part of library and its resources. Libraries have to plan their KM based services to meet the challenges of its members effectively, so that libraries will be identified as Knowledge Centers and it’s only done by with the help of information technology.

1.    Introduction
Information is one of the most important resources for a nation and forms the integral base for the development of science and technology and socio and economy aspect. At present scenario the world is being transformed into an information and knowledge society in which the information technology plays the leading role.
The term computer originated from the word ‘compute’ or ‘calculate’, data is processed using computer so that’s reason it is also known by popularity as Data processor and this type of processing known as Data processing.

i)    What is computer science:
A computer is an electronic device that operates so many operations in one roof. In technical terminology it is programmable machine. And it responds to a specific set of instructions in a well defined manner. It can execute a programmed list of instructions and respond to new instructions that it is given.

ii)    Difference between Computer Science and Information Technology: In their most basic terms, computer Science and Information Technology may not have any difference when being referred to in general and for a good reason, a lot of people do take them to mean more or less the same thing. However, speaking in strict computing terms, there is indeed a difference between the two terms. Computer science refers to the processes used to create usable computer programs and applications together with all theory behind those processes. Information technology on the other hand refers to the application of computer programs to solve Business processes. It is the application of technology in business. Information technology is very vast in terms of scale because it is applied virtually to any type of process that may require automation, from business, scientific research in various industries.
In short :  Computer Science deals with creating computer programs and it is in lower level while IT deals with the usage of those programs in business and industries is at high level in computing terms. Information technology integrates computer science into the business world for automated solutions.
iii)         A brief History of Computers :
Before mechanical stage 3000 B.C. - 1450 A.D.; In this stage so many cultures are their like Mesopotamia and communication media is only by speaking and pictorial form. After this symbolic language also used and in this decade and duration around 875 A.D. the concept of zero was developed and between 100 and 200 A.D. the first Nine digit numbering systems similar to those in use today were invented by Hindus in India and Abacus also was invented in this decade. Mechanical Age: 1450-1840. In this age Pascaline invented by Blaise Pascal. First mechanical computing machine invented in 1642.

iv)      Few Applications of I.T. emerge World : Some of areas where computers are used is listed as follows:
Education, Entertainment, Movies, Music, Sports, Advertising, Arts, Medicine, Science and Engineering, Banks, GIST, Library Management System, Travel Information system.
In education system so many educational software programs can be used that can be used by students and research scholars for their research world widely.
Library Management System : Computerized library systems have been installed in most libraries at Indore as well as all over the world in so many colleges and universities and public libraries.
GIST : Geographic Information System Technology is also helpful for any nation to protect the lives and also help full for police and security services, investing bureau.
RFID : Radio Frequency Identifier Device helps in antitheft and for identify. Now a days it is used by so many libraries in the type of RF Tag . but origanly RFID is used for detecting any substance which is covered by RF.

v)       Library Introduction : In present scenario the role of libraries is very importance in an educational institute and research. Library is not a storage device of books. It is the knowledge center as well as information hub for researcher and students. My dear friends I want to read a subject I will purchased only two or three books but after this I will go for a library and consult the more books of a title. At present libraries are to be developing or converted into in Knowledge centre. For example in Austria the concepts has develop and concept is Knowledge café . there are around more then 400 knowledge cafés have opened by government for promoting the research and growth. The importance of library is to support the growth of a nation in the manner of economy, cultural, science and Technology. And in the development of the library and Knowledge is impossible without information technology. The use of ICTs is potentially beneficial to development as it encourages the sharing of information and the effective involvement.
A library is a collection of sources, resources, and services, and the structure in which it is kept. It is organized for use and maintained by public authorities (in Public Library), an institution, or a private individual. In the more traditional sense, a library is a collection of books. Now the libraries are grown as a knowledge centre.
2.    History: Our country has a lot of knowledge with us from the past and so many study centres have so many reputed libraries in the past like Nalanda, Takshshila, Koushambi etc. But after this we are so for and down in comparison to foreign libraries. First Public library was developed in year 1800 at Kolkata by Kolkata library society. Then after Bombay General Library in 1830, Imperial Library at Kolkata in 1835 and so many library was started. The Impact of Library Act at Great Britain was seen at Bangal and so many libraries were opened for all. In the year 1910 the king of badodara shri Syaji rao Gyakwad (third) was taken the initiative to develop the library at badodara        (Gujrat prant) and they were arranged the training program for Library staff in 1911. And after the independence government take the initiatives to develop the libraries and they have include the schedule in Third Panchvarshiya Yojana. And at present so many state have passed library Act in their state but unfortunately our state Madhya Pradesh have no Act for libraries it means in M.P. no Library Act.

Specific Terminology used in libraries:
Accession Register
Classification
Cataloguing
Reprography
ILL
Periodical
Reference section
OPAC
CAS
SDI

4.    Traditional Library Systems ( TLS)
A library is more than a pile of books. A library adds value to information resources by organizing them and making them available. In our TLS they follow register system and in the register system they have issued all the material to their users through register system. There was no ideal reservation system. For Cataloguing means searching the books card cabinet was used. And it covers a lot of space in big library. And users have some difficulty for search their material. In periodical section they have cardex system.
5.    Library and computers
Library and computers when correlate in traditional libraries then searching mode are so faster in comparison of traditional system.
Computers in library
When computer used in libraries, libraries have following benefits :
Storage
Networking
CD ROM
Internet
Telecommunication
Searching
Reservation Facility
Storage device: Libraries store their data in computers and they have also store previous record in computers. Networking:  The Advantages of networking is so many libraries interconnect with each other and they have right to access the so many libraries from one place. ILL facility is so faster. ILL facility is called Inter library Loan. Importance of I.T. in Library in ICT era.Present Scenario of library at Core Business School, Indore .
5.1    History
Core Business School is an AICTE approved college. it is running under the Aarseya Education Society.
