Seminar on UGC Guidelines regarding API and PBAS by Dr. Prashant Jain

A Two Days Session was conducted 5th and 6th May, 2015 by Dr. CA Prashant Jain with the objective to brief about Importance of Research and Development Work in Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) and career advancement scheme initiated by University Grant Commission, Delhi.

Dr. CA Prashant Jain discussed the following points:

Minimum eligibility norms for appointment of “Assistant Professor” in the area of management given by UGC.

Importance of National Eligibility Test (NET) and exemption given by UGC for different segments.

Role of Ph.D. in career advancement and rewards related to monetary and non-monetary terms discussed very detailed by him.

Overall weighted of Research and Development activity in the Academic Performance Indicator (API)

Description about the marks of research paper published, presented in national and international conference.

Points allocated for attending the Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Seminars, National Conferences and International Conferences.

Importance of writing books and its weighted in overall points table.

Marks distribution between author and mentor/guide, author and co-author for research paper work.


Lastly Dr. CA Prashant Jain concluded the meeting by giving detailed information about record retention for the research work and assessment period for the career advancement.
