60th National Sports

60th National sports competition had a gala opening at premises of Pioneer Convent, Mahalaxmi Nagar Indore. The opening ceremony was witnessed by 1370 players representing 33 states of the nation under 14, 17 and 19 age group. The competition includes Karate, Soft Ball and Football which will be held at various schools in the city. Pioneer convent is hosting the Soft Ball and Karate competition whereas Football is divided among other Government and Non - Government schools of Indore. 

The opening ceremony started at 11am under the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Sanjay Dubey, Commissioner, Indore (Chief Guest), Hon’ble Rakesh Gupta, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Indore (Chief Guest). The sports meet is coordinated by Dr. Kaushal Kishore Pandey, Joint Director Education, Shri Kishore Shinde, District Education Officer and Mohd. Imtekhab Khan, District Coordinator. 

The budding champions welcomed the guests with saluting parade with their respective managers of the team. Followed to this cultural dance was performed by students showcasing the rich culture of the nation. There were more than 200 officials who attended the inaugural session. Around 240 boys and 203 girls are participating in Karate, 189 boys and 182 girls in softball, and 556 in football under the meet. Residence for them is provided by Pioneer Convent, Indore Public School, Islamia Karimia, and Poddar International School. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. CA P K Jain, Chairman Pioneer Institute of Professional Studies, Indore.

The 60th National School Games concluded with a closing ceremony at Chiman Bagh ground. 1370 players with 250 officials from 33 states of the nation were part of the ceremony. Host Madhya Pradesh won 20 titles (11gold, 5silver, 4bronze in Karate and 2gold in Softball (boys and girls). Football gold was bagged by Punjab defeating Maharashtra in the final.  Honorable Mr. V S Kokje, former Governer Himachal Pradesh was the chief guest of the ceremony. Dr Madan Trivedi, former joint director, education, Mr. Himasnhu Sharma, Observer, SGFI, New Delhi, Dr. Kamal Kishore Pandey, Joint Director Education, Mr. Tulsiram Ravre, former assistant director (sports) and Dr. CA P K Jain, Chairman Pioneer Institute of Professional Studies, Indore shared the dais. The ceremony was coordinated by Ms Sunaina Sharma. Mr. Kishore Shinde, District Education Officer gave vote of thanks to the dignitaries.
