Workshop on Handling of Examination Fear and Stress Management

Most students are nervous or afraid of examinations, and a moderate nervousness is often an advantage if you are to perform at your best. When nervousness becomes anxiety, problems with preparation, problems during the examination, physical symptoms of anxiety, Fear of examinations can be many things,  Being a new student, academic difficulties, inappropriate study techniques, perfectionism and performance anxiety, severe personal problems is a common feature. The time for a heavy cramming is up to the final week before the exam rather than during this week

The final week of the time is for refreshing your memory of all the stuff you have learned by reading your lists of summary points, scanning chapters rather than reading them in detail, looking at mind maps, etc.  So you keep your attention fresh. Have a positive mental movie clip of yourself looking relaxed and comfortable and competently preparing for attending the examination, going to it, going through it, and leaving it feeling a sense of achievement.

Managing stress is all about taking charge: taking charge of your thoughts, your emotions, your schedule, your environment, and the way you deal with problems. identify sources of stress, look at how you cope with stress, avoid unnecessary stress, alter the situation, adapt to the stressor, accept the things you can’t change, Make time for fun and relaxation and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
